Vote FOR
Proposition A

Hurst firefighters are dedicated to protecting our community, managing city resources responsibly, and serving with pride. To keep doing that at the highest level, we need your support.

What Proposition A Does

Proposition A gives Hurst firefighters the ability to use collective bargaining. This process—already in place in many Texas cities—provides a fair way for firefighters and the city to work together on pay, benefits, and working conditions.

Proposition A will not raise taxes.

Approving it means Hurst can keep experienced firefighters on the job and attract the next generation of highly skilled professionals. Collective bargaining has been part of Texas law for decades, with support from Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike.

A strong fire department keeps Hurst safe. Please stand with your firefighters and  vote FOR Proposition A.

What is collective bargaining for civil service employees?

It’s a process where firefighter representatives and city leaders negotiate in good faith to reach a written agreement on wages, hours, and working conditions. This ensures firefighters have a voice in their workplace through mutual negotiation.

Don’t firefighters already have this?

No. It must be approved by voters to give local firefighters the ability to collectively bargain.

Why do firefighters need this?

Currently, there’s no other way for firefighters to have an equal seat at the table when it comes to wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Does this raise taxes?

No. Collective bargaining works within the city’s existing budget.

Does this allow firefighters to strike?

No. Civil service employees cannot strike. Your firefighters are a vital part of the community’s safety network, and they will always be there for you and your family when needed.
